ART removes the scar tissue and releases muscles, ligaments, tendons and fascia that no longer function properly due to overuse or injury and return them to their proper function and flexibility.  ART is ideal for relieving pain due to the build up of scar tissue on damaged muscles.

Everyone gets scar tissue when they have either overused or injured muscles.  Overused muscles are a result of repetitive movements causing several tiny tears or rips while an injured muscle is when a sudden fall or accident severely rips or pulls your muscle tissue apart.  The body then uses scar tissue to repair the damaged muscles but because it is more tough and dense, it not only impedes your movement but it is also painful when the muscle is in use.

Muscles that are held in tension by sitting or holding any position for long periods of time suffer from under-oxygenation due to insufficient blood flow. This also leads to scar tissue, and the more scar tissue that you build up, the more will notice a decrease in your range of motion and strength, and an increase in pain.
