To help improve circulation, we use a myofascial cupping technique to target the muscles and connective tissue of the body.
This enhances the circulation within muscles and body tissue. This treatment is perfect for acute muscle pain and tension, especially injuries of the neck, shoulders, back, as well as herniated discs.
Cupping is also useful for detoxifying, drawing toxins and metabolites toward the skin where they can be flushed away by your lymphatic system. This can bring great relief for those who suffer from influenza, arthritis, asthma, bronchitis and the common cold.
How Does Cupping Work?
Using silicone cups, we create a vacuum on the skin that “draws” the underlying soft tissue up toward the skin, lifting the muscle away from the bone. The cups are used over specific acupuncture points and may be left for 5 to 15 minutes, or moved along the focus area for maximum benefit. The cups may leave a temporary mark on the body. The mark is useful as a diagnostic tool; the darker the mark, the more stagnation is present in the muscles. These marks lightening through successive treatments will signify the underlying condition is improving.
